Agnes Fowler – photo identified

Thanks to Valerie Smith for identifying the young girl in this photo.

It’s Valerie’s mother Agnes Eileen Weatherhead (nee Fowler 1913-2006). The photo was taken with her mother Julia Fowler (nee Fitzpatrick) on the left.

Julia Fowler was also my great grandmother and therefore Agnes was my great aunt.

The Fowlers were originally from Newtownards-Bangor, County Down in Northern Ireland, and I believe they emigrated across to the North of England sometime towards the end of the First World War. You can click here to view a satellite map of Newtownards and Bangor.
