19 Planetree Avenue

The immortal No. 19 Planetree Avenue, Newcastle.
This was the home of my grandparents Stan and Winifred Baker and their children. I have distant but fond memories of this house, particularly the back garden where the grass regularly reached 10ft in height (or it seemed that way to a 3yr old).
You will come across this house in the background of many of the Baker, Hunt and Heads family photographs, in fact the picture of me on the LINKS page is taken in that back garden.

Carol Heads – Photos

Here are some early photos of my mother Carol Laura Heads (nee Baker) taken between 1946 and the early 1960′s.

I scanned them in from a Family Photo album put together by my late grandmother Winifred Baker (nee Hunt). In some of the photos you will also find her sister Anne Hudson (nee Baker), cousin Rona Blanchflower, grandfather William Hunt, aunt Florence Rasmussen (nee Hunt) and brother Alan Baker.

Clarke – Photos

The attached photos were kindly provided by Jean Rodger.
They show her grandmother Elizabeth Clarke (nee Hunt) 1881-1970, her aunt Elizabeth Ward (nee Clarke) 1902-? and her mother Caroline Rodger (nee Clarke) 1903-1993.

Hunt Family Bible

Many thanks to Jean Crowther, Lynn Crowther and Dennis Hunt for managing to get me these 2 pages from the Hunt Family Bible. They show the family names along with dates of birth for the Hunts from Stalham, Norfolk in the mid 19th century.

The birth dates are quite interesting, as they nearly all show dates a year earlier than the various 19th century census returns.

What an excellent find!

Stan and Win Baker – Video

OK, this is the first attempt at putting a short video on the website.

Its a video taken by Jim Hudson around 1980 and is of Stanley James Baker 1922-1994 and Winifred Baker (Hunt 1924-1999). Hope you enjoy it.
