I recently made contact with Jennifer Mack (nee Ingledew) in Australia. She is Elizabeth Ingledew’s (nee Forster) grand-daughter and therefore turns out be my second cousin once removed.
Elizabeth moved out to Australia in 1950 with her daughter Elaine, following in the footsteps of her son James Henry Ingledew who was already there. James was a merchant seaman who had arrived in Australia around 1950, where he met a local gentleman who happened to have originally come from NE England and was called Bage. James ended up marrying his daughter, Elizabeth Bage and they had two children, Jennifer and James.
Elaine Ingledew (Elizabeth’s daughter) also married in Australia, but then moved back to the UK in 1952 with her son James.
You can view some of Jennifers photo collection of the Ingledews and Elizabeth Forster here. She has also kindly sent me details of her family tree, which I will add to ours over the next few days or so.
Strangely enough, this photo here which was among Winfred Baker’s collection, actually shows Elizabeth with her grandchildren Jennifer and James. It was previously lying in the ‘unidentified Forsters’ pile.
Thanks for your help Jennifer.
